The
Gums Horse and Pony Club
The Gums Horse and Pony Club a large membership of around 50. The club's
main aim is to encourage young riders, to teach people good horsemanship
and to provide a wide range of activities for people and their horses.
Activities at rallies include show jumping, dressage, cross-country, novelties
and trial riding.Schools are held several times a year and riders are
encouraged to take the opportunity to access the knowledge imparted upon
them by such instructors as Di Keach, John Patterson, Mary Hovers or Jeff
Bloomfield, just to name a few.
The Gums Horse and Pony Club belong to the northern zone,
attending annual zone competitions with teams in show jumping, games and
dressage.
The uniform consists of a purple v-neck jumper, purple tie, white long-sleeved
shirt, fawn jodhpurs and pony club approved riding boots. For cross country,
riders may where a purple and white striped rugby jumper, along with fawn
jodhpurs and boots.
Rallies are held at the Marrabel Rodeo grounds once a month.
These rallies begin at 10.30am and finished at 4pm. New members and visitors
are always most welcome.
