SA UPDATE - 19 SEPTEMBER 2007

PIRSA has provided a media release relating to people wanting to bring horses into SA from Victoria, WA, NT or Tasmania.

A permit system linked to health certificates will apply.

Please visit the PIRSA website www.pir.sa.gov.au or www.horsesa.asn.au to read the media release.

Further evaluation and risk assessments are currently taking place in relation to the ongoing requirements from October 1st in relation to horse aggregations and the permit system.

South Australia remains a high risk state, as we share borders with the infected states of NSW and QLD.

South Australia is expected to remain on high alert for several months and all horse owners are requested to remain vigilant.
