STILL CHASING INFORMATION ON MY OLD MARE Photos Anzac Day 1996- Christmas 1997 - August 1998 - Quartered nearside hind hoof. I have nearly given up, BUT..............one more try wont hurt! Bay mare, bought around late 1995 (November/December when the highway between Dalby & Miles was flooded!) from Kevin Quinn A1 Learner Horses & Ponies in Toowoomba QLd - however no idea where he got her from as he is known as a bit of a horse dealer please, please, please look at her carefully - she might once have been yours! When bought was said to be 10 or 11 years old and had been a ladies hack (if you beleive it), was unbranded (well we couldnt find one and she has since been branded). Bay with the classic black legs she has a star and no other white. A quartered nearside hind hoof (see photo) and dislikes being shod. Is very on the go, quick off the mark and spins on a dime. Jig jogs if she can get away with it or you dont know her. She girth galls easily. She has always been easy to load, when bought we loaded her onto the back of a Maverick trayback with stockcrate by using a slight natural rise in ground and a few hay bales. Very friendly - came up to us at the place we bought her from when we were hanging over the fence and is easy to do anything with BUT shoe. She has NEVER gone in foal for us, much to my dissappointment and its one reason I would like to trace her, because I'd like another one! I am guessing shes a mix of Quarter Horse, Arab & Pony but this could be completely wrong, I dont really care what she is as shes proven her worth to me many times over, after all I still have her 12+ years on. Her name we were told was Bonny - could be spelt different of course! I do have other photos of the mare but they are all of her as an older mare. I have the mare here if anyone thought they would know it was her in person and can fill in old owners on her past many happy years with us. Does anyone reconise this Leopard appaloosa stallion, or know of who may have breed him? I bought him from a friend about 12months ago who had owned him for the last 7years, they had purchased him from the horse sales that were held by Prostock in Mt Compass in the year 2000. At the time he was a 2/3year old colt, which makes him about 11years old now and is about 15hands. I would think that he would have maybe come from the local surrounding areas somewhere.
